Liz Pattinson is Head of Property at Ascot Racecourse, a world class racing venue and home of the Royal racecourse founded in 1711 by Queen Anne. Aside from racing, Ascot is also a venue for conferences, banquets, exhibitions, product launches as well as a movie and TV filming location.
Liz joined Ascot Racecourse in January 2017, heading up a new department focused on strategic planning and development of its 264-acre estate. Liz, a chartered surveyor, is responsible for developing and improving property assets, identifying opportunities to generate revenue for reinvesting into core business activities.
Liz manages a small team delivering master planning, financial planning and whole life capital development projects along with the day-to-day estate management of a varied portfolio. Her primary focus is to safeguard, develop and diversify Ascot’s portfolio to support its function as a premiership international racecourse venue. Stakeholder management both within the racecourse and in the wider community is a key aspect of her role, together with managing multi-disciplinary project delivery teams to successfully deliver capital investment projects of varying scale and complexity.
Prior to Ascot, Liz spent 17 years in commercial property consultancy, undertaking a range of building surveying, project management, access consultancy and master planning projects including the Thames Tideway Tunnel infrastructure project and several large urban development schemes. She is an advocate of women in property and workplace diversity and has recently completed Oxford Women’s Leadership Development Programme with Oxford University and Said Business School.
