Brian Mahony is the Head of Commercial & Marketing at Connacht Rugby. Connacht Rugby, founded in 1885, is one of the four professional rugby clubs in Ireland and has a rich history. The club is busy implementing their ‘Grassroots to Green Shirts’ vision with a clear purpose to inspire their community through rugby success. Currently, he is part of the leadership team implementing a Stadium and High-Performance Centre development project for the organisation.
Brian previously worked for 13 years with the International Triathlon Union (ITU), the world governing body for the Olympic sport of triathlon. During his time there, he served as the Director of Marketing & Global Projects and also the Director of Media and Television, overseeing ITU’s television, communications, digital and social strategy.
A lifelong learner, Mahony originally qualified as an Aeronautical Engineer, having worked with The Boeing Company and received a special academic award for finishing first place in the University of Engineering across all disciplines.
We found the ALSD International conference to be incredibly informative and relevant for Connacht Rugby. Listening to some of the global leaders in premium seating sales present their experiences, networking with all the international attendees and the behind-the-scenes tours of Wembley Stadium, The SSE Arena Wembley and Craven Cottage, all contributed to a very positive experience.
